BIO: Bardócz Árpád 1882-1938. Bardócz was a graphic artist and painter, active between the 1910’s and the 1930’s.
His posters show the popular Art Noveau style of the period. They are based on sophisticated, elegant drawing. Bardócz usually used flat-like shapes and decorative lines, with few intensive colors. His posters often utilize humor and caricature.    
He designed many commercial posters in the 1910s. He prefered to use lovely women figures on the posters, mainly well dressed metropolitan ladies. Besides posters, Bardócz designed every kinds of ephemera in this decorative Art Noveau style: invitation cards, covers, illustrations, etc.

Gispen, Willhem Hendrick. Nederlandsche Bond voor Kunst in Industrie, Tentoonstelling Stedelijk Amsterdam 1941. Color lithograph poster, 26 x 19 1/2". Wilem Gispen was an industrial designer mainly of lamps and furniture. The Bond voor Kunst Industrie (Dutch Association for Art in Industry) was established in 1924. The memebers applied themselves to the the making and distributing sound and beautidul products. The BKI appeared in public mainly at exhibitions (e.g. in the Applied Arts Museum in Haarlem in 1925 and the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam 1927, 1941 and 1949) and from 1936 at the Industries Fair at Utrecht.
